About this place
Set along a Yanagibashi backstreet, Yamamoto nikusumi serves charcoal-grilled meats in an unpretentious setting. Rather than cooking at the table yourself, each cut arrives freshly grilled from the kitchen, leaving you free to focus on eating.
Three meats in one set meal, finished with raw egg rice
The midday favorite is the mixed beef, chicken, and pork set, which presents all 3 meats together over a wire rack. Meals come with rice, miso soup, salad, seasoned minced chicken, and an egg prized for its rich yolk. The charcoal aroma perfumes the meat, which can be eaten plain or adjusted with dipping sauce and rock salt from the table. After working through the meat, stirring the minced chicken and raw egg into the remaining rice to make tamago kake gohan is a well-established finish.
Charcoal smoke and texture for evening drinks
At night, charcoal-grilled chicken neck (seseri), pork belly, and juicy lean steak share the menu with a wide spread of drinks companions. The house chicken tenderloin fry is known for its remarkably soft, airy texture. Charred seasonal vegetables such as zucchini, turnip, and crisp raw bell peppers serve as refreshing counterpoints alongside quick small dishes.
An easygoing space for counter pours and table gatherings
Draft beer, highballs, and Hoppy sets sit alongside a thoughtful selection of sake. With both counter and table seating, the space adapts easily to a solo lunch or an evening drink with coworkers.
